All Ready to Shake

Jay picks a bad spot to snooze. Actually he is getting a well deserved nap after P3D is fully prepared for vibration testing at the Godard Space Flight Center

Space is short at GFSC so they let us use their acoustic test cell to prepare P3D. The woofer (not shown) is large enough to swallow P3D. It is located above the tweeter. In this photo P3D is as close to flight ready as she has ever been. Only the Solar Array Pyros are not installed (safety reasons) and the fuel tanks are filled with a mass substitute rather that actual fuel.
